BPPA elections process is about to end. By Mid November we shall know the new executive officers who are contesting for positions at this moment and your votes are being returned as we speak. Some ballot papers have not reached their destination so duplicate ones are being sent to ensure mandate.

This would be current executive officers' last AGM and is designed to be a farewell, but is also serious business as we need to enshrine certain matters into practice that were left undecided last time. As these issues were circulated in July-August these would be discussed briefly in the AGM and voted upon.

Agenda for the AGM and details of the venue etc. are being circulated as attachment to this email.

Please do make sure that those who were eligible voters, attend, to see your new representatives and participate fully.

This time we would have to have notice of attendees. The Bond Wolfe Conference Centre can only accommodate 160 people. Catering and seating has to be paid for, from BPPA funds. We are not approaching any pharmaceutical for funds/grants. There is no registration fee etc. and everything is free, but those who wish to participate would need to let us know that they are attending in advance so there is no problem on that day.

You are welcome to bring families. We always were and continue to be a family friendly organisation. Once again, you would need to tell us that you are bringing families, due to restricted seating capacity. This is a busy time and hotels had been completely booked.

Those of you who wish to stay overnight, The Premier Inn hotel is in the same building as the conference centre and they charge £55 per room per night. Please book the rooms directly with the hotel on 0121 525 8333.

The local organisation of this AGM is being managed by Dr M Ishaq Khalid, Dr Hasan Jawed, Dr Shahid Quraishi and Dr Sohail Qureshi. but as always, the focal point of communications would be the secretary BPPA, Dr Mateen Durrani.
