With the 2006 Elections we have reached an important milestone in our history. This is a time to celebrate our achievements and to take pride in our democratic traditions. I wish to offer my sincere thanks to all of you for helping to foster democratic traditions within our organisation.

I particularly thank all those who put themselves forward for executive responsibilities. Those of you who were not elected must feel equally proud for your valuable contribution and I sincerely hope that you will remain at the forefront, for us to jointly take the organisation forward.

I must pay my sincere tributes to our outgoing executives for all the hard work and excellent achievements of the past 5 years. No doubt all the members of BPPA would share my appreciation of your efforts and contributions.

We now have to look to future to make our organisation even better and stronger. We need to make BPPA more inclusive, representative and responsive to the needs of Pakistani Psychiatrists.

However the agenda that I spelled out at the 5th AGM in Birmingham can only be fulfilled with your total support and involvement.

I thank you all for placing your trust in me and other executives and look forward to serving BPPA and its members to the best of my ability.
